Introducing 30 Weeks

An experimental program to give talented designers the hands-on experience, mentorship, critiques, tools, workspace, and connection to the communities they need to create products and start companies that may just change the world. It’s 30 weeks. It’s in New York. And it’s just getting started.

What happens in 30 Weeks?

From day one, the focus is on what you want to build—be it a product or an entire start-up. Either way, you own everything you come up with. And when it’s all done—having learned to ideate, iterate and innovate—you’ll leave a changed designer, thinker and creator, fully prepared to bring your vision to the world.

How does it work?

30 Weeks embraces the principles of technology start-ups — minimal direction, maximum speed — to help transform designers into founders. This learn-by-launching structure gives participants a chance to build their entrepreneurship skills in an environment that’s as close to the real thing as possible. In short: you get 30 weeks of start-up mentorship, discussions with industry leaders, real tools, group critiques, hands-on-help, a space to work and time to focus on your own product.

Who is the right fit?

Do you want to change the world? Are you foolish and ambitious enough to think you can? Are you interested in big things? Are you a problem solver and a connector of dots? Do you have some ideas and just need a little time and guidance to turn them into reality? Do you love (or hate) technology, and believe it could be better? Do you want to help people along the way? Are you always making, making, making? Do you have an itch to make it on your own? Have you ever wanted to leave everything behind to strike out on a new path? Is design your favorite language? Do you believe design can shape the future? If so, then you belong at 30 Weeks.

Who can apply?

We accept passionate, curious designers that want to ignite their full potential by creating their own products. Candidates are carefully curated, and have backgrounds in areas like visual design, creative technology and storytelling, as well as a strong desire to lead.
